Sending all the positive teacher-vibes that we can muster to Mariel Golden and Clarice Ahn who will be leading SPEAK’s first debate and public speaking session through the African Refugee Development Center in Tel Aviv, Israel! Mariel and Clarice will be teaching SPEAK sessions throughout the month of June and we are
so excited to hear about their project. They have worked very hard to adapt the curriculum to address the needs of students with english as a second language, various educational experiences, and professional goals of program participants, and it has been a pleasure collaborating with them over the past few weeks of training sessions. Thank you to Mariel for sparking this idea, and to our partner organizations the African Refugee Development Center, the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), and the Community Education Center for partnering with SPEAK to make this happen! Thank you also (and always) to Alfred Snider and Bojana Skrt for bringing Mariel and I together in quirky, wonderful ways over the past five years and for sharing your resources and love of debate. None of this would be possible without you!
